from an inhabited shore and at such a distance from lighters barges, hulks and similar harbour vessels as to make the access of stegomyia improbable; or
(b) that the ship or aircraft at the time of departure was effectually fumigated in order to destroy mosquitoes.
Other Infectious Diseases, Precautionary Measures.

66.--(1) Persons suffering from other infectious Precaution- diseases such as :-chicken-pox, diphtheria, enteric fever, ary measures dysentery, scarlet fever, influenza, cerebro-spinal meningitis, regard to neasles, may be removed to hospital if the Port Halth Officer vessels or is of opinion that they cannot be properly isolated or treated infected on board.
(2) Bedding, linen, wearing apparel and other articles which the Port Health Officer considers as infected shall be disinfected.
(3) Those parts of the ship which the Port Health Officer considers as infected shall be disinfected according to his directions.

67.-(1) If the Port Health Officer on inspection of Measures any ship finds any decaying animal or vegetable matter, with regard rubbish, dirt. filth or other matter, which in his opinion is and in- likely to be injurious to health or to create a nuisance, he sanitary may serve a written notice on the master, agent or owner board ship of the ship to abate the said nuisance within twelve hours. or aircraft.
(2) If not abated within such time the master, agent or owner shall be liable to a fine not exceeding fifty dollars and to a further fine not exceeding twenty dollars for every day of continuing default.
(3) If the Port Health Officer on inspection of any ship finds any crew's quarters, living spaces, water tanks, food- lockers, paintlockers, decks, lavatories, latrines, or bilges to be in a dirty or insanitary state, he may call upon the master of such ship to carry out to his satisfaction such cleansing, disinfection, white-washing or painting as he may direct.
(4) Any master who neglects to comply with such orders within such time as the Port Health Officer directs shall be liable to a fine not exceeding fifty dollars and to a further fine not exceeding twenty dollars for every day of continuing default, and the person whose duty it is to grant a port clearance may, on the certificate of the Port Health Officer, withhold a port clearance from such ship until the Port Health Officer's directions have been complied with.
(5) At the discretion of the Port Health Officer any offensive articles mentioned in this section may be discharged, and the vessel may at the owner's or agent's expense, be disinfected under the supervision of the Port Health Officer.
